As an automotive parts supplier, the Company designs, engineers, manufactures, markets and sells individual component parts for vehicles, as well as groups of components that are combined as modules or systems within vehicles. Tenneco markets its ride products and systems under the Monroe, Rancho, Clevite Elastomers and Fric Rot brand names. It markets its emission control products under the Walker, Fonos and Gillet brand names. In February 2005, Tenneco announced the acquisition of substantially all the exhaust assets of Gabilan Manufacturing, Inc., a privately held company that develops and manufactures motorcycle exhaust systems primarily for Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
